Were the 2024 Cowboys Better on the Road?

The Cowboys went 7-10 in 2024. This page is for Cowboys fans who want to compare their home and away games.

Based on this table, Dallas went 5-3 away and 2-7 at home. That is a better road record, but location alone does not explain the results. Opponents and other game conditions also matter.

Full Season

The games are sorted by week, from earliest to latest. Week 7 was a bye, so there is no game that week. The yellow column shows the order.

Hover over a row to highlight it. Click an opponent's name for a game summary. Click the underlined column headings for help.

How to Use the Table

Example 1: Compare home and away results

Start with the Location column. Click "Show away games" and count the W results in the outlined rows: there are 5 wins in 8 games. Then click "Show home games": there are 2 wins in 9 games. The road win rate was 62.5%, compared with about 22.2% at home.

Now check Point Margin. The away games add up to +2 points, but the home games add up to -120. Dallas had better road results overall. Still, the Week 17 road loss was by 34 points, so playing away did not always go well. Click Philadelphia in Week 17 to read that game's summary.

Example 2: Same opponent, different location

Click "Compare Giants games" to outline Weeks 4 and 13. This lets you compare games against the same opponent instead of mixing different teams. Dallas won 20-15 away in Week 4, a margin of +5. Dallas won 27-20 at home in Week 13, a margin of +7.

The home win had a slightly larger margin, even though the full-season home record was worse. Dallas also scored 7 more points at home against the Giants but allowed 5 more. Click each Giants name to see these numbers in the summary box. These two games show why a season-wide pattern does not describe every matchup.
